LOTRO ad seen

While reading some amazing Dylan Thomas poetry I was surprised to see the HD LOTRO advert…

I know the browser knows my preferences but still…

Full Poem:

And Death Shall Have No Dominion – Dylan Thomas

And death shall have no dominion.

Dead man naked they shall be one

With the man in the wind and the west moon;

When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,

They shall have stars at elbow and foot;

Though they go mad they shall be sane,

Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;

Though lovers be lost love shall not;

And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.

Under the windings of the sea

They lying long shall not die windily;

Twisting on racks when sinews give way,

Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break;

Faith in their hands shall snap in two,

And the unicorn evils run them through;

Split all ends up they shan’t crack;

And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.

No more may gulls cry at their ears

Or waves break loud on the seashores;

Where blew a flower may a flower no more

Lift its head to the blows of the rain;

Though they be mad and dead as nails,

Heads of the characters hammer through daisies;

Break in the sun till the sun breaks down,

And death shall have no dominion.

    Problem with blog comments will address this weekend, Yours was approved the answer is in the text:
    But no wizardry nor spell, neither fang nor venom, nor devil’s art nor beast-streangth , could overthrow Huan without forsaking his body utterly. Ere his foul spirit left its dark house, Lúthien came to him, ghost be sent quaking back to Morgoth; and she said: ‘There everlastingly thy naked self shall endure the torment of his scorn, pierced by his eyes, unless thou yield to me the mastery of thy tower.’ Then Sauron yielded himself, and Lúthien took the mastery of the isle and all that was there; and Huan released him. And immediately he took the form of a vampire, great as a dark cloud across the moon, and he fled, dripping blood from his throat upon the trees, and came to Tar-nu-Fuin, and dwelt there, filling it with horror.

    Huan had beast Sauron by the throat and when he shifted to bat Sauron his throat still bled…

      Oh I read this out of context, thanks for pointing out that the injury to the throat had nothing to do with the vampirism! My own brain just filled in the blanks..surely that is a syndrome…of stupidity :))

      I’m replying again..having distracted myself from work most of the day exploring ‘literary devices’ for the correct terminology for this ‘false inference’ created in the sentence:

      ‘And immediately he took the form of a vampire, great as a dark cloud across the moon, and he fled, dripping blood from his throat upon the trees,…’

      Vampire Dripping Blood and Throat…

      I presume it was unintentional on J.R.R. Tolkien’s part?
