LOTRO: Tsukuld lv75 Rune Keeper: Stats and Equipment!

26 Mar

Well Tsukuld is actually lv76 already not from ROHAN but from skirmishing…after wrapping up misdeeds and being uninspired by mounted combat (YES it is very early days!) I decided to check equipment and have some obvious changes to be made:

Cosmetic Actual

There is not so much discussion to be found nowadays about lv75 RK’s but an old Forum thread, from 2011 so old versions of LOTRO (when the max was 75!)…pre game changing stat and combat changes in HD…

‘I am about halfway “done” but my goals are:
20000 offense
5500 crit
8000 morale
5000 finesse’

Only in crit and finesse am I there and my offense and morale is way off…

I have obvious changes to be made with my equipment as its simply too old (in regards to level!)

‘Counselour’ should be ‘Counselor!’

And the following table is a bit small so click on it to read the actual stat gains from each item.TSUTABEQ

So my aim is to get RK level 75 gear for my RK which has turned out quite costly in terms of MARKS and MEDS…

I can just about afford 1 more item and will grind away for another this weekend to get the 4 piece set bonus 🙂

But I will also beg, borrow and steal some replacements for some of my weaker gear…

LOTRO: My Little (WAR) Pony, 1/3

20 Mar

Tsukuld arrived to into Rohan by using a mithril coin to jump to first NPC in the WOLD quest chain…I otherwise would have had no idea of how to get there! So a wolding Tsukuld will go…and after that he will get his war pony!

Never seen before loading screen...NICE!

Never seen before loading screen…NICE!

I message recived that I dont own the AREA...Wait this is Great River not ROHAN...phew!

A windmill, I have gone all Don Quixotic!

My first NPC in WOLD quests…like the leaping horse house end!

Respect Thane, Tsukuld is cool and always sit on your table…

Respect to wifey (of course!)

Milestones are also nice in Rohan!

Milestones are also nice in Rohan!

I sense some salamander killing coming soon…

This game was IRRITATING!

Rohan is very pretty (am playing in very hi res graphics but may need to drop back to a lower setting if and when I get my war pony.)and its nice to be earning XP again, I already found the LI relic forger and deconstructor, essential under the circumstances. I can tell that my MisDeeds adventures have had a softening effect on my gameplay, where I wander carelessly into encounters…the pretty flora that hides some mobs does not help, in ROHAN this is decidedly dangerous, I am going to have to get cautious again.

It is very early days and am dissapointed to realise that I am still a quest chain away from getting my War pony, maybe only a 1/3 of the way!

0.3333333… (recurring) decimal representations of numbers can be tricky

But I quite like the following explanation of the difficulties they can generate:

‘Decimal numbers can be represented exactly, if you have enough space – just not by floating binary point numbers. If you use a floating decimal point type (e.g. System.Decimal in .NET) then plenty of values which can’t be represented exactly in binary floating point can be exactly represented.

Let’s look at it another way – in base 10 which you’re likely to be comfortable with, you can’t express 1/3 exactly. It’s 0.3333333… (recurring). The reason you can’t represent 0.1 as a binary floating point number is for exactly the same reason. You can represent 3, and 9, and 27 exactly – but not 1/3, 1/9 or 1/27.

The problem is that 3 is a prime number which isn’t a factor of 10. That’s not an issue when you want to multiply a number by 3: you can always multiply by an integer without running into problems. But when you divide by a number which is prime and isn’t a factor of your base, you can run into trouble (and will do so if you try to divide 1 by that number).

Although 0.1 is usually used as the simplest example of an exact decimal number which can’t be represented exactly in binary floating point, arguably 0.2 is a simpler example as it’s 1/5 – and 5 is the prime that causes problems between decimal and binary.’

Maths is tricky… Rohan is pretty and my Little War Pony run is only one third of the first part done.

LOTRO: Misdeeds 14 My Little War Pony 0

19 Mar

First wrapped up Warg slayer deed at Caldwell Pool. Then back toward Gloin’s Camp to wrap up Snow Beast slayer deed!

ScreenShot00023 ScreenShot00025 ScreenShot00027

And hurrah at last Tsukulds misdeeds draw to a close…Misty Mountains deeds have been done!ScreenShot00030

And I of course opened the metadeed chest to find pick-a-mount box, never had one of those before and I could pick the red skeleton horse 🙂ScreenShot00031

Its been a long ride completing all these deeds, now it is over I am very pleased with myself. I know Tsukuld has a good basis of ‘traits’ to build upon (all about lv10) and is now ready to ride off to Rohan where of course the skely horse will be replaced by ‘my little war pony.’

Mounted combat at last, lets see if I like it!

LOTRO: The Secret Diary Of Tsukuld RK, Misdeeds 13¾!

18 Mar

Tsukuld started the day in Hrimbarg, needed to get to the Warg killing fields in Bruinen Source East… so headed East and quickly found that was not the way so hopped to Gloin’s camp using Milestone skill. Not really on one leg…

Got to wondering about how to rationalize this in Middle Earth, rather than understand the actual MMO mechanic and the need to speed gameplay up.(I have a need for speed!’ – TOP GUN!) I have reached that milestone in game and if I so want it I can relive it at anytime. Likewise the SWIFT mount is a very special mount not that unlike the DeLorean from Back to The Future, in that it starts out as a normal horse, picks up speed and puff you arrive at your destination, horse slows to the stable. And the ‘normal’ stable mount is also quite amazing too, it gets you to your destination (almost always, the days of the stuck stable mount seem to be behind LOTRO.) but it is invulnerable to EVERYTHING, so much so that all and sundry mobs will ignore!

In LOTRO time is not relative, it is constant, slowly ticking away down the proverbial sink…whereas distance has become relative, relatively near and relatively far! You can travel the world of LOTRO in an instant if you so desire.

Terry Pratchett’s Discworld time is also another fascinating read, as is this discussion of how light travels over the disc. Just remember:  ‘…the entire DISC is MAGIC,…  … speed of light can sometimes be outpaced by sound?’

Anyway after getting to Gloin’s Camp where he pulled his contemplative head out of his existential arse, Tsukuld headed North.

A few Snow Beasts were killed along the way, the completion of the advanced slayer deed edging ever closer. Turning West before the infamous ‘stairs’ Tsukuld encountered the first few Wargs as he entered Eastern Bruinen Source, but he continued to his goal…the ice rink like Caldwell Pool. Here Tsukuld zapped his way to being halfway through the advanced slayer deed.

So how come Tsukuld has ¾ of a misdeed? Aha, as he also wrapped up the basic deed as well…that was another 100 Wargs.

He may have wrapped up if my own incompetence and the shoddy in-game store had not ended with a deed scroll for class skills not slayer deeds! Wasted 50TP!…

1 more day and should terminate Misty Mountains, will miss misdeeds from Moria and Eregion and go off to collect a war pony!

LOTRO: Misdeeds 13 Goblin Town…

17 Mar

Tsukuld deposed the king of Goblin Town. The king is dead, long live the king.

‘Clap! Snap! the black crack!
Grip, grab! Pinch, nab!
And down down to Goblin-town
You go, my lad!
Clash, crash! Crush, smash!
Hammer and tongs! Knocker and gongs!
Pound, pound, far underground!
Ho, ho! my lad!
Swish, smack! Whip crack!
Batter and beat! Yammer and bleat!
Work, work! Nor dare to shirk,
While Goblins quaff, and Goblins laugh,
Round and round far underground
Below, my lad!’

JRR Tolkien – The Hobbit

Tolkien Gateway

That green geezer is he a member of Prodigy, Keith Flint? Got the poison. Got the remedy. Got the pulsating rhythmical remedy. That is some trolling drum n bass! Just like the Goblin Town musical number in the Hobbit…

A contemplative picnic, sushi anyone?

gollum sushi

Nice graffiti. And the real thing, Graffiti that is by SmugOne:

So Tsukuld fully explored Goblin Town to find all the POI’s and also all of Bilbo’s buttons… I used the Brasse’s Goblin Town map when I got too lost.

And will ya Adam n Eve it, wrapped up all of the explorer deeds of Misty Mountains.

Only Wargs (300+) and a few Snow Beasts to go until My little war pony time…. I am starting to get excited…

LOTRO: Misdeeds Mountains, 12!

16 Mar

Tsukuld continued the wrap up of misdeeds in the Misty Mountains

Small creatures in Misty Mountains…

Giants in the Giant Halls were hunted down, slightly confusing at times but Giants are hard to miss!

Like a puppet on a string!

Dead giant…

Then it was time for bears, back and forth between Lornstone, to Giants Needle to Southern part of Iorbar was wandered over again and again.

Amazing what length you will go to to scratch an itchy arse…

Bear in the air!

Bear angle…

Getting under the skin…literally!

My wife always complains that I miss her head of photos as well!

Then it was time for trolling…Imlad Norm was run again and again.

New sport, flaming ball chasing!

Its my ball!

U dropped your flaming ball!

Dead Troll!

And finally worms in the Writhenbores area, in one entrance, down and around and out the other entrance. Walk back to 1st entrance, killing yet more worms and repeat.

Dead worm (dragon)!

So deathtoll for this slaughterous weekend were 100+ Giants , 200+ Bears 240+ Trolls, and 240+ Worms… without any deed boosts… was tedious at times but job is now done…

I woke up late this morning, alarm was set for 5 not 4! So had little time to slay wargs, I did get the last locations for the Forbidding Heights Deed, including the Starkath warg area, but the wargs were thin on the ground, I would prefer to wrap them up at Caldwell Pool

Next Goblin Town exploration and Bilbo’s Buttons deeds…

LOTRO: Misty Misdeeds Ele11en!

13 Mar

I spent nearly an hour shifting crafting mats around alts this morning! As soon as that was sorted I moved Tsukuld to the Misty Mountains, the last area I intend to complete deeds in before starting my little war pony adventures in Rohan. (Moria can wait for now…)

And there is quite a lot to be done:

Tsukuld killed a few bears but then it was time for work…

LOTRO: Misdeed 10, WORMSIGN!

12 Mar

‘Usul, We have wormsign the likes of which even God has never seen.’

DUNE quote

Tsukuld rushed over to Sálgaitë, obviously Middle-Earth’s number one vacation spa for worms, lounging in the sun or bathing the salty waters, tis a proverbial infestation! Great place to complete the worm slayer deed.

Feeding time…

Hotty Tsukuld, with LI bonuses is much better for tough opponents but cannot fire skills off on the move. I had 44 mins of my slayer deed left so changed to pikachu mode and proceeded to zap away at all and sundry. In zap-zap mode am not one-shotting but can run around and gather a nice flock of worms to take out together, Vivid Imagery and Essence of Winter AoE skills adding the finishing touch, and wrapping up leftovers with the nice n spectacular Static Charge. I wish I had enough skill points to get a Volcanic Runestone from the fire-line, as I would just drop one of those and let that finish the pack off while running off to get more worms. And I regret not having leveled an LI to boost pikachu, my ‘Teslacles’ are still undeveloped, maybe with a good pair I could really start to one shot kill everything!

Angmar Metadeed completed, time to unpack bags and travel to the Misty Mountains.

When checking in-game post discovered that Tsukuld was starting to get crafting mats returned to him from alts…so spent next 30 mins shuffling and sorting out posts and items…on 2 alts only, 3 more to sort out!

Strange tradition in LOTRO before travelling to a new destination you must UNPACK!

LOTRO: Misdeeds n9en n9en luftballons!

11 Mar

‘Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Hielt man für UFOs aus dem All
Darum schickte eine General
‘ne Fliegerstaffel hinterher
Alarm zu geben, wenn es so wär
Dabei war’n da am Horizont
Nur 99 Luftballons’
Nena – ’99 Luftballon’s’ (german)

Tsukuld wrapped up Uruk slayer deed in Angmar just under 1 hour but I needed to pop another slayer deed boost or I would have failed. Below are screenshots of all of the available Uruks in Mor Maudhúl.

ScreenShot00017ScreenShot00000 ScreenShot00001 ScreenShot00002 ScreenShot00003 ScreenShot00004 ScreenShot00005 ScreenShot00006 ScreenShot00008 ScreenShot00009 ScreenShot00012 ScreenShot00013 ScreenShot00016  ScreenShot00019 ScreenShot00020 ScreenShot00021 ScreenShot00023

Now just Worm Slayer (Ok Tolkien used ‘worm’ but that word evokes wriggly things in my heads not wyrms…oh well!) to go and then back to the Misty Mountains… the end is in sight, obscured only by a little mist.

Wait is that a balloon?

‘Heute zieh’ ich meine Runden
Seh die Welt in Trümmern liegen
Hab’ nen Luftballon gefunden
Denk’ an Dich und lass’ ihn fliegen’
Nena – 99 Luftballons (german)

LOTRO: Misdeeds, 8 Ork Wit Fork

10 Mar

Tsukuld continues misdeeds (yes it is dragging on and on) in Angmar.  Uruks were found, Carn Dûm proved too slow so headed to Mor Maudhúl where found 14 to 16 Uruks, its going to be slow…Uruk slayer basic done, 170 to go!

Uruk goes legs up!

U scare me but will kill ya anyway!

Where is my fork?

Orc Slayer was also completed in deed they were toasted!
