LOTRO: Server Status!

4 Aug

So Bingo arrived and I have been focusing a lot on Opopa, my hobbit burglar on Laurelin, I have been neglecting this poor hobbit for an age… and now I have started the Adventures of Opopa fan-fiction I have ideas that require me to get him moving…so there will be more OPOPA stuff in the future which can only be a good thing…keep reading… I created an index page: https://tsuhelm.wordpress.com/the-adventures-of-opopa/

adventures of opopa

The wonder of doing an ‘e-book’ is you can change the cover from moment to moment!

Opopa will not so lonely any more…as Tsukuld will probably be moving with his kin to Laurelin due to server mergers. Or closures as some pedantic commentators persist in calling it…why not call a glass half full of lovely beer a dirty smelly glass of disgusting evil liquid…why don’t ya…? Negative trolls you are all! Tsukuld has started exploring the Eaves of Fanghorn, and as all forests should be he keeps losing his bearing, exacerbated by not spending more time there…

Who is that geezer?

Tsudryt wrapped up the Trollshaws wolf slayer deed on Landy: 14’ish wolves a day and finished 1 day earlier than predicted.

Good job Tsudryt and Harold!

Crawlers next…

My original char Tsuhelm (and his extensive support staff!) on Windfola will have to move to one of the remaining US servers… as yet I am clueless as to which I will choose…as all he does is collect Hobbit Presents at the moment there is no rush!

Tsuhelm the carefree hippy!

LOTRO: I finished with the BOG!

10 Jul

Oh yeah! And I finished with the bog slaying faster than I had anticipated when I started the wrap up I predicted 120 days – but many days I couldn’t resist just killing 1 more…

So what to do next, I had thought about heading south to kill some trolls but looks like I may have done that already…

LOTRO: popping in before EVE!

17 Jun

“What you doing here?” asks the surprised NPC of Tsukuld. Withywindle adventures in East Rohan will continue soon…

WOW! more piles of silver!

Tsudryt, the orange cappy on Landy, is now trying to do one of the slowest slayer deeds even slower than ever before… a Bog slayer a day… 120 days to go!

I can see you… (killed 3 today…oh no I may finish too fast!)

Tsuhelm on Windfola… waiting for mail! Will no-one ever write?

For a one legged hobbit burglar the road ahead is long…. poor Opopa on Laurelin!

OK now time to head off into outer space again… Tsu’s EVE N Thorizon

‘May I have your attention please?
May I have your attention please?
Will the real Blog Landy please stand up?
I repeat, will the real Blog Landy please stand up?
We’re gonna have a problem here…’

There is a lot going on on Landroval server at the moment, I have noticed that many bloggers are playing LOTRO on LANDY… (some have recently moved to LANDY!) The Tolkien Prof is giving classes on LANDY!

Cos We R Blog Landy, yes We R Blog Landy
All you other Blog Landys are just imitating
So won’t the real Blog Landy please stand up,
Please stand up, please stand up?’

I was thinking maybe a small getting together of the bloggers (and anyone else of course) should take place…WHEN, HOW, and IF (successful?) springs to mind but if you think it is something you would like to do how about dropping a comment below?

‘Ha ha
Guess there’s a Blog Landy in all of us
Fuck it, let’s all stand up’

LOTRO: HD…At Last!

6 Jun

Better late than never…even if it was typical for me a last minute panic, I managed to reach the required total last night of 3336TP to take advantage of the LOTRO store sale of Helms Deep this week…

I had already presuuered my wife to not watch TV so that I could concentrate on TP grinding and had set an unrealistic deadline of 1 and a half hours…manged to overun once with a 30 min extension and then with 6 TP remaining get another mini extention.

How did I grind the TP?

Withywindle: Minitsu wrapped up the BREE area, sickle fly and neeker adv, Bree-land Adventurer, History of the Dunadain, Ruins of Bree-land, Barrow downs explorer…

Windfola: chars used the recently acquired mines of Moria maps to each get the Moria Cartographer deed…and Tordy and Tsuhelm became Kindred with Council of The North, I spent all savings..60GP on more rep items and got Gullerodspiser to kindred as well!

Landroval: my reputation eater: Zanoriaspiserdos ate a huge mountain of smaller 30 rep items to get from Ally to Friend with Iron Garrison Miners…I could have continued to kindred I suppose…in Guards as well.

Reminds me of Track and Field computer game…key bashing madness!

So to buy…all excited and then disaster 😦

Somehow I had set the TP target in my head 100TP less than the actual…WTF…!

I let the wife watch some TV: we saw 2 episodes of ‘The Blacklist’…MEH!

I could have stayed up but was tired and planned to get up early to try and grind out the last 100TP.

Instead inspired by a bed invasion at 230am by our 2 sons, who demanded first water and then milk I decided to get up…it was overcrowded anyway!

So Minitsu arrived into Ered Luin, and went on a musical festival of DEATH….wolves, flies, goblins, dwarves, birds were all sung to oblivion! Became ally, defender and finally Hero of Ered Luin, explored places of dwarves, ruins of elves and scouted Dourhands…I think I also got a class deed for 5 TP!

In 1hr 45 mins had done it… 3436TP!

now the risky part…was HD expansion still on offer in the sale?

It was 0445 am June 6  and the sale end was June 5!

Yeah! Cool…thx TURBINE!

9TP too much!

So now I am HD…nothing popped up on screen and I waited around…oddly everything feels the same!

I suppose I must start leveling to 95 now…

LOTRO: Drunken Night on the Town

23 Oct

In true British style Tsudryt went out on a bender last night. (The Inn League iniciation quests didn´t help) It was the first night of the Fall Festival and it felt like half of Landroval were out and about!

After 24 beers Tsudryt couldnt see straight….

After 42 beers he could not anymore…tried to listen to a band playing outside the bird and baby…or was it just an excuse to get some fresh air…

Finaly able to see straight again… oh cute elf…

The night could end in romance…

It was not! …due to Tsudryt´s reserve

LOTRO: Warning you are Entering the Legendary ZONE…

3 Oct

Tsudyrt continues to run away from Captain Landroval…Captain Landroval Series #9

‘You’re traveling to another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but also of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose bounderies are that of the imagination. At the sign post up ahead, your next stop, the legendary zone.’

The Twilight Zone Introduction

Quick recap…left Evendim, North Downs wrapped, Southern Angmar pummelled and foothills of Misty Mountain explored…

Recently Dinged lv45 and combined the celebration by dropping the last page needed for Legendary Skills while running up and down the ‘stairs’ in Misty Mountains…

I was all happy and ready to blast off into the weird and wonderful twilight zone that is Legendary Items…

Aha …more quests to be done, class quests to be done, Epic quests to be done…

I got stressed and stalled!

Tsudryt ran around Rivendell collecting lv50 raid quests…er NO NO NO…not gonna be doing these for some time…popped back to Angmar then back to Misty Mountains…then to Bree I was lost!

Yesterday at last the clouds cleared.

Was it the meditation before play?

The fact I had time in an evening (My poor wife was sick and took to bed early, the kids dropped too …a serendipitous event!) to play for a large amount of time enabling me not to rush into a decision?

Or pure luck…?

With my vision restored Tsudryt headed South from Rivendell, heading for Eregion…

Clarity…and look what Tsudryt managed to do:

Volume I, Book 4: Chasing Shadows

Chapter 2: The Missing Rider

Super powered due to stone, squashed trolls and hillmen!

Chapter 3: The Wisdom of Lord Glorfindel

Run back to Rivendell

Chapter 4: Regaining the Trail

Run down to Bruinen Ford stick crystal in water and run back…

Chapter 5: Hiding in the Dark –

Started..more tedious travelling…

Volume II, Prologue

Foreword: Bulwark of the West – Man

Foreword: The Strength of Men – Man

Foreword: Three Ways – Man

As illustrated: just running around…nice to see all the main characters from the book!

A Better Sort of Giant

Those bad giants are tough..7000+ hp..managed to take 2 down with the friendly giant’s help…JOLLY GREEN GIANT springs to mind!

Tal Bruinen

Bert, Tom and Bill

Stoned Trolls…ONGOING…after speaking with Bilbo in Rivendell just need to find them…have passed over them before…

Surprise Pipe-weed

Twas surprising…a barrel of weed found …quest started. I like it when quests come from adventuring out n about and not the boring other way round!

A Bumpy Road

Not bumpy and too easy…good combination with Food – best served cold – lots of crawlers…

More Confused Than Usual

Kill 4 trolls, it was tough to get to them, oddly, and quite typically, afterwards I had to detour to avoid em…with help of my helpful elven archer (skirmish soldier) they were quickly felled…my legendary skill 30% dmg also sped things up a wee bit!

Toad Stews

Froggy toady legs mashed…

Best Served Cold

Found the dwarf, fed him toad and worm soup (!) and now sent back…to Tal Bruinen with his expert culinary critique.

The Skulking Creature

The White Hart

Find a dead stag, remove arrows …Too easy

The Hunter’s Injury

Find the cheeky hunter that stole the kill …(that was left to walk off!) Half done- back to Lone Lands…er well..er no!

Worms On the Heights

Easy bit is to kill worms(dragon kind), getting to the heights and finding the first Mother wrym..trickier!

Sarnemil’s Flight

Last boss, killed before I had even wound up my rotation…too easy, I was expecting more of a challenge.

The Trader

Dangerous Enterprise

Found broken crate up a path…

An End to the Enterprise

Took out lots of Gauredain and their pet wolves…collected little wooden dolls they dropped…(wolf boys and their dolls!) GO through door for secret passage to find rest of the Gauredains.

Cause for Sorrow

ONGOING back to Bree…probably not…

Do you see what Tsudryt did not do?

He did not get to Eregion to start Legendary Weapon Epic Quests…Volume II!

Now he will have to wrap up in Trollshaws first…tut tut.

LOTRO: Harpooned a sweet Huntress Outfit from Lampooned

3 Oct

Costume advice was sort out from LANDROVAL LAMPOON for Sunngiffu (yeah the ones that sent me my Scholarly Merchant outfit for Tsuhhere.)

They sent me an entire outfit ready to go!

Sunngiffu my huntress with Harlequin and Calamity Jane flavours got here first makeover!

point thirdty Flower wideroad

My Costume Noobness shows as I forgot to take note of the items that make up the outfit…OOPS!

What I lack in Cosmetic blogging I can make up with cool GIF’ing (and more than surpass with stupidity!)

‘You spin me right round, baby

Right round like a record, baby

Right round round round’

Needless to say that Sunngiffu is happy to be outfitted again in a proper outfit suitable for hunting and general adventuring, an outfit definitely more in character.

An outfit to get down and dirty in, yet one that cleans up right nice!

NOW that is an idea I have not seen…COSMETIC COSMETICS…I sense a lack of understanding from my audience…

Think about it: a cosmetic ‘effect’ that cosmetically effects the whole look…

DIRTY cosmetic – clothes are dirty…looks like they need a wash…

MUDDY – well you have just wrapped up running around Midgewater Marsh deeds and there should be mud caking your lower half…(The festival look!)

WORN – clothes are ripped and shoddy

WET – clothes are well, wet looking… climb out of the river in your full set of heavy armour after an enjoyable quick dip, your hair and cloak should be sodden for a while…or maybe it’s raining!

BURNT – you know, blackened around the edges more appropriate to having beaten an ORC to death while on FIRE!

NEW – pristine, just off the shop mannequin

HOT n SWEATY – well damp around the pits!

SPARKLY – spent all night polishing your bits…they should dazzle and blind!

LOTRO: Won Scholarly Trappings!

18 Sep

The Landroval Lampoon blog over on ‘Blogger’ had a competition which I entered late…:( shame on me!

But being such good sports, they still sent me a nice Scholar cosmetic outfit (a variation on the original prize!)

What was the competition?

“In LOTRO, Lake Evendim is lovingly referred to by what other name?”

I answered: Lake Nenuial?

They were looking for: ‘Lake Everswim’

Now after Tsudryt has almost fully explored Evendim I can understand why…if you are not VIP you have to pay mithril to use the swift boat travel option so there is a LOT of swimming needed…

So double good sports for even accepting my answer…

Tsuhhere being only lv16 is unable to equip the shoulder pads but will don then with pride when he gets to lv20 (cosmetically at least!), I’m calling them, ‘Epaulettes of the Scholar.’

Tsuhhere is more of a Merchant at the moment and I will use these Scholarly trappings as his Merchant outfit!

Thanks Miri of ‘A Flock of Smeagols’ fame er…I sent on my apologies re: https://tsuhelm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1329&action=edit

Log in screen for Tsuhhere

Day 1 LOTRO RP: Late for the Party

29 Aug

Day 1

The Fellowship of the Secret Fire

Late for the Party

Sunngiffu had had a rough day…

Having escaped from bandits in Archet she had managed to find her way to Bree via Combe.

She had woken up in that cell, cold and naked, in the sense that her precious furs and leather had been removed from her, her daggers and bow as well. Her lucky rabbits foot was gone…well maybe it was not so lucky anymore and it was time for a new one.

Dressed in rags and assorted items of armour that she has since picked up, a real hotch potch…how she misses her warm fur cloak! The last bow she picked up is a definite improvement, stronger and less warped than that first bow scavenged from a bandit. For killing some piglets a farmer gave her a new short sword, basic but sharp and she also relieved a bandit of a nice dagger, too fine for him and passable for her.

Upon arriving in Combe she had sold some hides she had collected off wolves and boars that had dared to cross her path, she had not seen any trace of rabbits. With these silver and copper coins in her pocket she took a quick horse to Bree as at this moment Su wanted to think…to think she needed to drink and in Bree there was the Prancing Pony.

From the southern stable Su walked through Bree, past market traders and hurrying adventurers, some roaring by on horses other running as if their lives depended on it.

Twas a quiet night in the Pony which was strange, but then it was mid week and no bands were playing. The house minstrel was twanging only occasionally! A small group of impressively armoured adventurers were in front of the bar, Su squeezed by and quietly asked for a whiskey.

She was instantly drawn into a polite conversation with two of the adventurers, a huge armoured captain sort and a fine and elegant lady, both sported huge glowing weapons. The ‘captain’ was drinking water to the amusement of others and the ‘lady’ a mug of tea , which after it had cooled was thrown behind the bar with surprising nonchalance…strange people. Su, after trying to drink her whiskey before having being handed itmade her excuses, oddly tongue tied as if chatting was difficult for her! She headed into the back where instead of sitting on one of the benches chose to sit on the floor next to one.

The conversation was quiet and muted, she heard speak of a group of adventurers having been in earlier who were up to something, trying to organize some event, or quest. Su’s instincts latched onto this talk and she instantly decided that she would wait here in the Pony in the hope one or more of this group returned…

That and she needed to think…and to think she needed to drink and in the Pony there was a lot to drink!
