LOTRO: Misdeeds 14 My Little War Pony 0

19 Mar

First wrapped up Warg slayer deed at Caldwell Pool. Then back toward Gloin’s Camp to wrap up Snow Beast slayer deed!

ScreenShot00023 ScreenShot00025 ScreenShot00027

And hurrah at last Tsukulds misdeeds draw to a close…Misty Mountains deeds have been done!ScreenShot00030

And I of course opened the metadeed chest to find pick-a-mount box, never had one of those before and I could pick the red skeleton horse 🙂ScreenShot00031

Its been a long ride completing all these deeds, now it is over I am very pleased with myself. I know Tsukuld has a good basis of ‘traits’ to build upon (all about lv10) and is now ready to ride off to Rohan where of course the skely horse will be replaced by ‘my little war pony.’

Mounted combat at last, lets see if I like it!

LOTRO: The Secret Diary Of Tsukuld RK, Misdeeds 13¾!

18 Mar

Tsukuld started the day in Hrimbarg, needed to get to the Warg killing fields in Bruinen Source East… so headed East and quickly found that was not the way so hopped to Gloin’s camp using Milestone skill. Not really on one leg…

Got to wondering about how to rationalize this in Middle Earth, rather than understand the actual MMO mechanic and the need to speed gameplay up.(I have a need for speed!’ – TOP GUN!) I have reached that milestone in game and if I so want it I can relive it at anytime. Likewise the SWIFT mount is a very special mount not that unlike the DeLorean from Back to The Future, in that it starts out as a normal horse, picks up speed and puff you arrive at your destination, horse slows to the stable. And the ‘normal’ stable mount is also quite amazing too, it gets you to your destination (almost always, the days of the stuck stable mount seem to be behind LOTRO.) but it is invulnerable to EVERYTHING, so much so that all and sundry mobs will ignore!

In LOTRO time is not relative, it is constant, slowly ticking away down the proverbial sink…whereas distance has become relative, relatively near and relatively far! You can travel the world of LOTRO in an instant if you so desire.

Terry Pratchett’s Discworld time is also another fascinating read, as is this discussion of how light travels over the disc. Just remember:  ‘…the entire DISC is MAGIC,…  … speed of light can sometimes be outpaced by sound?’

Anyway after getting to Gloin’s Camp where he pulled his contemplative head out of his existential arse, Tsukuld headed North.

A few Snow Beasts were killed along the way, the completion of the advanced slayer deed edging ever closer. Turning West before the infamous ‘stairs’ Tsukuld encountered the first few Wargs as he entered Eastern Bruinen Source, but he continued to his goal…the ice rink like Caldwell Pool. Here Tsukuld zapped his way to being halfway through the advanced slayer deed.

So how come Tsukuld has ¾ of a misdeed? Aha, as he also wrapped up the basic deed as well…that was another 100 Wargs.

He may have wrapped up if my own incompetence and the shoddy in-game store had not ended with a deed scroll for class skills not slayer deeds! Wasted 50TP!…

1 more day and should terminate Misty Mountains, will miss misdeeds from Moria and Eregion and go off to collect a war pony!

LOTRO: Misdeeds 13 Goblin Town…

17 Mar

Tsukuld deposed the king of Goblin Town. The king is dead, long live the king.

‘Clap! Snap! the black crack!
Grip, grab! Pinch, nab!
And down down to Goblin-town
You go, my lad!
Clash, crash! Crush, smash!
Hammer and tongs! Knocker and gongs!
Pound, pound, far underground!
Ho, ho! my lad!
Swish, smack! Whip crack!
Batter and beat! Yammer and bleat!
Work, work! Nor dare to shirk,
While Goblins quaff, and Goblins laugh,
Round and round far underground
Below, my lad!’

JRR Tolkien – The Hobbit

That green geezer is he a member of Prodigy, Keith Flint? Got the poison. Got the remedy. Got the pulsating rhythmical remedy. That is some trolling drum n bass! Just like the Goblin Town musical number in the Hobbit…

A contemplative picnic, sushi anyone?

gollum sushi

Nice graffiti. And the real thing, Graffiti that is by SmugOne:

So Tsukuld fully explored Goblin Town to find all the POI’s and also all of Bilbo’s buttons… I used the Brasse’s Goblin Town map when I got too lost.

And will ya Adam n Eve it, wrapped up all of the explorer deeds of Misty Mountains.

Only Wargs (300+) and a few Snow Beasts to go until My little war pony time…. I am starting to get excited…

LOTRO: Misdeeds Mountains, 12!

16 Mar

Tsukuld continued the wrap up of misdeeds in the Misty Mountains

Small creatures in Misty Mountains…

Giants in the Giant Halls were hunted down, slightly confusing at times but Giants are hard to miss!

Like a puppet on a string!

Dead giant…

Then it was time for bears, back and forth between Lornstone, to Giants Needle to Southern part of Iorbar was wandered over again and again.

Amazing what length you will go to to scratch an itchy arse…

Bear in the air!

Bear angle…

Getting under the skin…literally!

My wife always complains that I miss her head of photos as well!

Then it was time for trolling…Imlad Norm was run again and again.

New sport, flaming ball chasing!

Its my ball!

U dropped your flaming ball!

Dead Troll!

And finally worms in the Writhenbores area, in one entrance, down and around and out the other entrance. Walk back to 1st entrance, killing yet more worms and repeat.

Dead worm (dragon)!

So deathtoll for this slaughterous weekend were 100+ Giants , 200+ Bears 240+ Trolls, and 240+ Worms… without any deed boosts… was tedious at times but job is now done…

I woke up late this morning, alarm was set for 5 not 4! So had little time to slay wargs, I did get the last locations for the Forbidding Heights Deed, including the Starkath warg area, but the wargs were thin on the ground, I would prefer to wrap them up at Caldwell Pool

Next Goblin Town exploration and Bilbo’s Buttons deeds…

LOTRO: Misty Misdeeds Ele11en!

13 Mar

I spent nearly an hour shifting crafting mats around alts this morning! As soon as that was sorted I moved Tsukuld to the Misty Mountains, the last area I intend to complete deeds in before starting my little war pony adventures in Rohan. (Moria can wait for now…)

And there is quite a lot to be done:

Tsukuld killed a few bears but then it was time for work…

LOTRO: MisDeeds 1

25 Feb

Tsukuld with the help of Taltoz, Family kin leader, who ran my little RK through a couple of instances to get him to LV75…ding-a-ling my little war pony is ready to ride…

That dinging got me to bonging:

‘Bing bing bang a bang a bang bing bong bing a bing bang a bong
Binga bing a bang a bong bong bing bong bing banga bong
Bing bing bang a bong bong bing bing binga binga banga bong
Bing bing bang a bang bang bing bong’
MinistryJesus Built My Hotrod

…and instead of heading of for mounted combat I chose to use my extended LOTRO time each morning during my 11 day vacation (that was the plan that didn’t really get realized!) to wrap up some older areas I had neglected…or at least try to get some of the deeds done.

Had fun in Old Forest… not so much in Great Barrows but then I bumped into a kinnie running some alts around and I tagged along in follow and that was that… BREE METADEED DONE!

Rath Teraig explored…SARNUR left for another day…

That smelly PIE deed was left alone…leftovers that no-one wants!

The right to fight wights
Twisted or not..
RK vs Wight: fight night!

Tsukuld has a TWIN?

After wrapping up 99.99% of Red Maid I was stumped for a while to where the heck the spring was! For the History of the Red-maid Quests (Vessel of Purity, For the Love of Nature , Reclaim the Lost Maiden.) Twas outside and you bring the purified water into the instance… I had confused the quests… Thanks to LOTRO WIKI and patience of kinnies who I think tried to explain this to me repeatedly…OOPS!

So Lone Lands Epic quests wrapped as well as METADEED 🙂

Only Exploration deeds to be done and done they were rapidly, a few EPIC quests were done as well but as soon as METADEED was done Tsukuld was off…

Now the going got heavier as Tsukuld had basically hopped over the Trollshaws… and my little RK decided to take all the quests given along the way, the many auto daily slayer quests made reaching Kindred with the Elves of Rivendell a breeze (was close already from rep items), was the first time I had quested here since the revamp and must admit it does flow mush better.

The slayer deeds here are all a bit of a drag though…

1st: WOLF slayer in the little wolf den with slow spawn rate and irritatingly stealthed!
2nd: TROLLS are easy (when OP) I remember struggling on level on other chars…
3rd: WIGHTS are easy enough, run back and forth in Nan Tornaeth BUT only at night…  day broke and had to come back again later to wrap up!
4th: WORMS (not crawlers that look like worms but wyrms!) find the small lair around the circular lake at Cirith Ulunn… and run around alot!
5th: CRAWLERS these carrion are found all over Trollshaws but nowhere is really good for quickly farming but basically kill all that you encounter and wrap up serendiptiously while doing ‘worm’ slayer above in Cirith Ulunn.
6th: GIANTS go to giant town also good for worms (not crawlers!) but I had done that already…and amazingly there are tons of resource nodes for Lebethron and Dwarf Iron! Too many to farm alone!

Completed quite a few quests, some of the EPIC book and got the METADEED 🙂

Is that you Tarpolo? Get that Bog Lurker off your head! You don’t know where it has been!

I did intend to head into the Misty Mountains next but instead decided to go for a swim in Everswim…popped back to Bree to sort out some of the mountains of crafting mats I have collected…also put up lootbox stuff into AH for any kinnies that may find them useful…Tsucan my neglected warden (lv16!) finally leveled his scholar to Expert, oh shucks now he needs to go to Rivendell…ok bags empty Tsukuld onwards…

What u staring at Tsukuld…?

nicesky landscape

Everything is so pretty in Evendim…

Deed grinding is ongoing and trying so far spectacularly unsuccessfully to avoid picking up quests, since arriving at Tinnudur and moving North to Ost Forod, have taken and completed them all…my only defense is that there is a Warden of Evendim deed for doing 90 quests!

I found Whiteberry’s Tales of Arda deed map section again yesterday, all of these deed maps are awesome!

Bandits(Tomb-Defenders) done on the island of Rantost, Gauradan done in the hills of Emyn Uial, and Giants also slaughtered here. Salamander slayer continues on Tyl Ruinen… there is a slight infestation of em!

Tsukuld hopes to wrap up here by the weekend before heading to ANGMAR and MISTY MOUNTAINS…will it never end?

LOTRO: A Deed Needed is a Deed Indeed!

5 Feb

Tsukuld is still getting ready to set off to East Rohan, I want to raise some of my traits so I will need to complete some deeds…

Meta-deed not done…Old Forest to be explored and Barrow downs slayer deeds left unfinished, all of this is pretty unforgivable…

Well it was Tsukulds starting area, am actually missing Meta-deed and Rath Teraig exploration…also SARNUR deeds to be done…good for Thorin’s Hall rep items 🙂 (new min lv of 35 to use)

Done all except Meta-deed due to irritating pie delivery deed!

Lots to do here and now I can wrap up the half completed EPIC Vol1 Bk2 The Red Maid as well!

OOPS…only a couple of exploration deeds to be done!

or EVERSWIM! Tsukuld has only popped in to visit, will need to show restraint when coming back to slay and explore…must ignore quests…ok may do the EPIC…or more likely leave for later…

Another area Tsukuld basically skipped through, some good EPIC quests to do… must chase down Gollum as well!

Lots to wrap up here…but most of quests done, may say hi to pole turner

Tsukuld half-heartedly explored the Misty Mountains, shouldn’t take too long to wrap it all up, even the EPIC Vol1 Bk5 The Last Refuge

Passed through to get to Moria…time to go back me thinks…

moriaupper moriacentral morialower moria

It never ever ever ends…as Tsukuld is always popping back here on the whim of all and sundry will leave these to get completed as they get completed as they surely will. May wrap up any EPIC quests as I find them…

Both areas need to be ‘purchased’, I will do this as soon as I can, well maybe soon with all the TP flowing in while wrapping up these deeds!

I have but have not explored.

Bits n bobs left undone, but all fresh i my head and to be honest need a change so will be back here towards the end of my ‘Deed’ endeavor!

Tsukuld spent 45 minutes juggling tailor recipes and diverse other alt crafting mats… Have now about 10 diverse recipes (better than the 1 yesterday!) but only 2 light armour 😦

This is not such an auspicious start of the deed bonanza… luckily I have a week off work coming up, so barring any mishaps I am looking forward to a very profitable vacation in Middle Earth, with the tantalizing prospect of Rohan just over the horizon…

LOTRO: Wild Rovers U15.2

4 Feb

‘I’ve been a wild rover for many’s the year
I’ve spent all me money on whiskey and beer
But now I’m returning with gold in great store
And I never will play the wild rover no more
And it’s No, Nay, never,
No, nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover,
No never no more’
The Dubliners – ‘Wild Rover

U15.2 has arrived: ROVING THREATS are now to be found in Angmar, Forochel, Western Gondor, and the Misty Mountains. I presume they will not appear unless the appropriate quest is taken as these are lv100 beasties and will surely eat up and spit out what little remains of any on level solo explorers…

They are not replacements or even a re-introduction of the RARE ELITES that used to be farmed for crafting mats, as these could be taken down by good players on level for the area encountered, and for us more normal players in on level fellowships. I have always enjoyed these encounters and indeed felt that an encounter, and almost certain ‘death’ to a RARE ELITE broke up the monotony of basic/easy LOTRO landscape play.

‘I went in to an alehouse I used to frequent
And I told the landlady me money was spent
I asked her for credit, she answered me nay
Such a customer as you I can have any day
And it’s No, Nay, never,
No, nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover,
No never no more’

LOTRO: Sign In Misty Mountains, ‘WARNING, Beware Of Giants!’

7 Apr

Continuing Tsukuld’s Misty Mountain wrap up…and getting close to lv45 when he can go off and claim his first LI…those Moria Depths are approaching.

Another signpost:

A broomstick in the snow...watch out for bears scratching their...oh no! Giant!

A broomstick in the snow…watch out for bears scratching their…oh no! Giant!

After this Tsukuld headed North to the ‘stairs’ trying to remember how you can travel East, finally he found the passage and commenced the warg and goblin slaughter. Tsukuld is easily zapping the mobs 1 or 2 at a time but is pushed when more mobs enter the frey, can cope better when in pyromaniac mode but is not as fun. I like the mobility the zappy RK provides – just wish he was a bit quicker about it!

Eventually found path again to explore further west and picked up more quests from some lonely dwarves before finally getting to Hrimbarg, where there is a stable, Tsukuld can quickly hop back to Rivendell and Gloin’s Camp again…

Hrimbarg ahead..mist cleared!

Hrimbarg ahead..mist cleared!

So time to take down some Goblins and Tempest Wargs…orange peeling and squeezing, mobs all orange! I actually died too many times taking out the Goblins and it was really frustrating collecting fire pots…mainly due to my own stupidity!

LOTRO funny!

LOTRO funny!

Dwarf exploding potion…burns beard! (sorry about the HUD..was a quick grab!)

Eywind: ‘Ha! Good work, Tsukuld. Now let us see those. There is not much a goblin can come up with that a dwarf can’t sort out in short order.
Eywind says, “What’s this…?”
Eywind says, “Hah. Little grubbers think they’re so clever, do they?”
Eywind says, “Eh? What’s this here?”
Eywind says, “Gah! My Beard!”
Nogmeldir says, “Not quite so clever with your beard on fire, are you Master Dwarf?”
Eywind says, “Cursed goblins… How dare they!”
Nogmeldir says, “Ah well. I guess we shall have to look for another solution.”

Back to Rivendell and decided to do some crafting…back to Bree…Tidied up vault and crafted some stuff for my Warden Tsucan…

The Family Leader Taltoz is a Warden fanatic and he took some time to help me get outta Archet with mine 🙂

'One day is as long as they last!'

‘One day is as long as they last!’

Got to lv6 by the end of this quick lesson of mouse movement and skill activation using keyboard. A gaming mouse is recommended… at the moment I cannot go backwards, jump or activate gambit without taking fingers of skill keys! That is not optimal!

I used the horse whistle to ride into Combe and on into Bree, I need to transfer the tailor scrolls out of Tsukuld vault and into Tsucan’s…he will be the tailor library can when not out and about!

LOTRO: Sign in Misty Mountains, ‘Warning. Beware Of Mammoths!’

4 Apr

‘Sign O the Times mess with your mind
Hurry before it’s 2 late’

Prince – Sign O’ The Time

Tsukuld family life continues to be entertaining… I got tired of North Downs and headed into the Misty Mountains..first stop Gloin’s Camp…nice to have orange mobs to kill and if not too greedy could handle 1 or 2 mobs at a time. Killing bears was especially fun for some reason. I also went up the hill to the stairs to place a sign…

On tip-toe...no on my heals!

On tip-toe…no on my heals!

Back to Gloin’s and Rivendell 😦 more bears to kill…

second sign...better than worm sign!

second sign…better than worm sign!

I ventured down this path and encountered lots of tough dwarves which I was glad to see drop pages for all my legendary books so I imagine they are going to get a pasting soon… Giants and Nasty trolls at the end…RUN AWAY!   While killing snow beasts I passed by a hobbit minstrel, I thought it strange that she was moving around but not killing anything…I backtracked and started a RP conversation, you just never know…and RP’ed lite we went off to kill some beasties…she rocked with her bass and being lv80 was soon rocking the beasties to death…was difficult to keep up!

Thanks Lynaria (made friends with her on Windfola as well, 2 TP grinders there!)

Lynaria, lv80 Mini rocks!

Lynaria, lv80 Mini rocks!

Beast slayer deed basic done and adv started and with Bears killed back to Gloins and Rivendell 😦 Tsukuld had levelled to 41 and half so time for new armour…crafting time. After completing the pristine armour set – light fate armour, had loads of exceptional leathers left (yeah that did confuse me at first …I got out all my pristine leathers ran across Rivendell to Crafting space (hate this place!) only to find needed exceptionals!) It felt good that Tsukuld could actually pass back some of the leathers I was sent by family members to other family members. An Attack at Dawn later and lv42! Woot! Equip armour and head off up into the mountains again… Time to take on some Mammoths: mammoth hunt tusk 1 down NEXT

Only found 2 outta 3 of the mammoth rings! The giant pachyderm hunt will continue, it always saddens me to kill the neutral wildlife in LOTRO. I try not to do it. I am sorry little winter fox…you were too close to the area attack target!

Having fun in LOTRO…pages needed (but can also pick them all up in Moria), few more levels and I will be heading off for my Legendary… lets see if I can do what I have never done before…get OUT of Moria!

‘Some say a man ain’t happy, truly
Until a man truly dies
