LOTRO: Pet Farming East of Esteldin!

13 Apr

I took Tsuchump my long neglected lv35 champ out for a spin, I was enjoying my still uncompleted TP grind run with Madtsu (lv23) that I fancied taking a champion higher into the later levels…maybe even into Moria! It had been some time since last play, indeed I was VIP as all trait slots are available which is the advantage he has over Madtsu…but he was sporting a 2-handed sword and was in red DPS line! Thanks to Taltoz, kin leader,  he got a nice new set of armour 🙂

I normally play my champs with 2 swords and in AoE line…indeed it is my thrill and continual motivator to try and take out as many mobs at the same time and still walk away… safe to say with that big clubbing sword the speedy AoE dynamic was somewhat off! Nakt was online from my kin and as always this Grumpy dwarf champ needs to be active or gets grumpier so was nice to follow in his footsteps through Tucky runs, a Great Barrow instance and even a Rivendell Iorbar’s Peak instance. Was so close to lv37 when fatherly and hubby duties where called for…

Must protect the egg!

This morning I remembered why I had taken Tsuchump to North Downs away from Evendim as I really do find it slow going and thats without the tedious swimming! Hillmen and Warg enmity race deeds still had to be done and as mobs still on level…(green!) could also get some class skill deeds done.

But upon arrival I found the whole hillmen area infested with pet classes (captains and lore-masters) they were soaking up all the hillmen… they left open a couple of patches…not even sure that was by design with which I was able to get half way through the 250 hillmen needed for hillmen enmity II. Normally is even quicker, today I used a 2xdeed and skill deed…

All was going great until I realized that my Swift to Anger deed was not moving, I did think it really odd that this deed among all my others was still open…so today I sent my first ticket to TURBINE…lets see if they can fix it OR am I doing something really stupid?

What is that yellow splat…? It doesn’t imbue confidence!

LOTRO: Misdeeds 14 My Little War Pony 0

19 Mar

First wrapped up Warg slayer deed at Caldwell Pool. Then back toward Gloin’s Camp to wrap up Snow Beast slayer deed!

ScreenShot00023 ScreenShot00025 ScreenShot00027

And hurrah at last Tsukulds misdeeds draw to a close…Misty Mountains deeds have been done!ScreenShot00030

And I of course opened the metadeed chest to find pick-a-mount box, never had one of those before and I could pick the red skeleton horse 🙂ScreenShot00031

Its been a long ride completing all these deeds, now it is over I am very pleased with myself. I know Tsukuld has a good basis of ‘traits’ to build upon (all about lv10) and is now ready to ride off to Rohan where of course the skely horse will be replaced by ‘my little war pony.’

Mounted combat at last, lets see if I like it!

LOTRO: Misdeeds 13 Goblin Town…

17 Mar

Tsukuld deposed the king of Goblin Town. The king is dead, long live the king.

‘Clap! Snap! the black crack!
Grip, grab! Pinch, nab!
And down down to Goblin-town
You go, my lad!
Clash, crash! Crush, smash!
Hammer and tongs! Knocker and gongs!
Pound, pound, far underground!
Ho, ho! my lad!
Swish, smack! Whip crack!
Batter and beat! Yammer and bleat!
Work, work! Nor dare to shirk,
While Goblins quaff, and Goblins laugh,
Round and round far underground
Below, my lad!’

JRR Tolkien – The Hobbit

Tolkien Gateway

That green geezer is he a member of Prodigy, Keith Flint? Got the poison. Got the remedy. Got the pulsating rhythmical remedy. That is some trolling drum n bass! Just like the Goblin Town musical number in the Hobbit…

A contemplative picnic, sushi anyone?

gollum sushi

Nice graffiti. And the real thing, Graffiti that is by SmugOne:

So Tsukuld fully explored Goblin Town to find all the POI’s and also all of Bilbo’s buttons… I used the Brasse’s Goblin Town map when I got too lost.

And will ya Adam n Eve it, wrapped up all of the explorer deeds of Misty Mountains.

Only Wargs (300+) and a few Snow Beasts to go until My little war pony time…. I am starting to get excited…

LOTRO: Misdeeds Mountains, 12!

16 Mar

Tsukuld continued the wrap up of misdeeds in the Misty Mountains

Small creatures in Misty Mountains…

Giants in the Giant Halls were hunted down, slightly confusing at times but Giants are hard to miss!

Like a puppet on a string!

Dead giant…

Then it was time for bears, back and forth between Lornstone, to Giants Needle to Southern part of Iorbar was wandered over again and again.

Amazing what length you will go to to scratch an itchy arse…

Bear in the air!

Bear angle…

Getting under the skin…literally!

My wife always complains that I miss her head of photos as well!

Then it was time for trolling…Imlad Norm was run again and again.

New sport, flaming ball chasing!

Its my ball!

U dropped your flaming ball!

Dead Troll!

And finally worms in the Writhenbores area, in one entrance, down and around and out the other entrance. Walk back to 1st entrance, killing yet more worms and repeat.

Dead worm (dragon)!

So deathtoll for this slaughterous weekend were 100+ Giants , 200+ Bears 240+ Trolls, and 240+ Worms… without any deed boosts… was tedious at times but job is now done…

I woke up late this morning, alarm was set for 5 not 4! So had little time to slay wargs, I did get the last locations for the Forbidding Heights Deed, including the Starkath warg area, but the wargs were thin on the ground, I would prefer to wrap them up at Caldwell Pool

Next Goblin Town exploration and Bilbo’s Buttons deeds…

LOTRO: Sign In Misty Mountains, ‘WARNING, Beware Of Giants!’

7 Apr

Continuing Tsukuld’s Misty Mountain wrap up…and getting close to lv45 when he can go off and claim his first LI…those Moria Depths are approaching.

Another signpost:

A broomstick in the snow...watch out for bears scratching their...oh no! Giant!

A broomstick in the snow…watch out for bears scratching their…oh no! Giant!

After this Tsukuld headed North to the ‘stairs’ trying to remember how you can travel East, finally he found the passage and commenced the warg and goblin slaughter. Tsukuld is easily zapping the mobs 1 or 2 at a time but is pushed when more mobs enter the frey, can cope better when in pyromaniac mode but is not as fun. I like the mobility the zappy RK provides – just wish he was a bit quicker about it!

Eventually found path again to explore further west and picked up more quests from some lonely dwarves before finally getting to Hrimbarg, where there is a stable, Tsukuld can quickly hop back to Rivendell and Gloin’s Camp again…

Hrimbarg ahead..mist cleared!

Hrimbarg ahead..mist cleared!

So time to take down some Goblins and Tempest Wargs…orange peeling and squeezing, mobs all orange! I actually died too many times taking out the Goblins and it was really frustrating collecting fire pots…mainly due to my own stupidity!

LOTRO funny!

LOTRO funny!

Dwarf exploding potion…burns beard! (sorry about the HUD..was a quick grab!)

Eywind: ‘Ha! Good work, Tsukuld. Now let us see those. There is not much a goblin can come up with that a dwarf can’t sort out in short order.
Eywind says, “What’s this…?”
Eywind says, “Hah. Little grubbers think they’re so clever, do they?”
Eywind says, “Eh? What’s this here?”
Eywind says, “Gah! My Beard!”
Nogmeldir says, “Not quite so clever with your beard on fire, are you Master Dwarf?”
Eywind says, “Cursed goblins… How dare they!”
Nogmeldir says, “Ah well. I guess we shall have to look for another solution.”

Back to Rivendell and decided to do some crafting…back to Bree…Tidied up vault and crafted some stuff for my Warden Tsucan…

The Family Leader Taltoz is a Warden fanatic and he took some time to help me get outta Archet with mine 🙂

'One day is as long as they last!'

‘One day is as long as they last!’

Got to lv6 by the end of this quick lesson of mouse movement and skill activation using keyboard. A gaming mouse is recommended… at the moment I cannot go backwards, jump or activate gambit without taking fingers of skill keys! That is not optimal!

I used the horse whistle to ride into Combe and on into Bree, I need to transfer the tailor scrolls out of Tsukuld vault and into Tsucan’s…he will be the tailor library can when not out and about!

LOTRO: Banging Head Against Wall Of Moria

15 Oct

Tsudyrt continues to run away from Captain Landroval…Captain Landroval Series #12

‘All in all it was just a brick in the wall.

All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.

“You! Yes, you! Stand still laddy!”‘

Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall pt.1

Tsudryt, really wants to get his hands on a legendary weapon…so continues to try and wrap up valume II, book 1 of the Epic quests…I forgot to mention that I was shocked at the poor voice acting in this the introduction to Moria, simply dwarves with North American Accents a bit too far out!

Filgogân Quests

Expedition: Unwelcome in Hollin

Expedition: Orders for Half-orcs

Expedition: The Common Thread

Expedition: Unpleasant Business

Well ….easy to get lost and I hadn’t even realized I had picked up all the quests I needed when I completed all the quests I needed.

Lots of orange orcs to squeeze!

Because I had done both the optional Expedition quests I could do the following:

The Fall of Moria

Instance: The Fall of Moria – Solo Session Play

Get to be a lv60 dwarf in olden LOTRO times…and we get to run around doing silly quests just like modern times in LOTRO!

Finally get to the Mithril Mines and thought it very unlikely that King Durin was down showing visiting elves around when Mr. Balrog showed up…

I think a cinematic with Mr. Balrog running loose in the city causing mass destruction and Mr. King Duran Duran could then have some kind of epic confrontation!

The reflex, wild boys, view to a kill, ordinary world and falling down all so appropriate…

In the end I am told to escape from the Balrog and the passage is blocked so I went running around (took some screenies) and uh-oh died!

This is not good as now I have to re-do the whole bloody thing! And it is not exciting…although the Balrog was OK!

‘I have seen the writing on the wall.

Don’t think I need anything at all.

No! Don’t think I’ll need anything at all.

All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.

All in all you were all just bricks in the wall.’

Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall pt.2

Instead of repeating Tsudryt continued the legendary journey!

Volume II, Book 1: The Walls of Moria

Quest:Chapter 4: Outside the Gate

Gave the rest of the dwarves their lunchpacks

Have a chat with Warr (running out of ideas for names…) Uh ah Uh ah!

Sent to find some pickaxe handles..

Chapter 5: Handling the Situation

Help Bori and Bosi with some trunks of wood…easy…

Find some sharp stones…easy

Chapter 6: Cousin Brogur

Talk to Brogur..done send you to investigate wolves/wargs

Chapter 7: Wolf-voices on the Wind

Kill more wargs…now these wargs look black to me so strange they drop albino furs and skins…

Find a dead warg close to entrance to that ORC infested cave…return

Chapter 8: Before the Doors of Durin

Talk to Bosi, set up a base camp north, defend bosi from wolves/wargs

Pick axes to Warr infront of door, even get to put them in a crate…all that running around and they don’t use em…

Stop dwarves from throwing stones into the dark lake…stupid dwarves…surely they have better things to do…

Bosi arrives, you get to remove the last 2 pieces of rubble…oh thx guys!

Tentacle attack! Run for help…Not exactly on the scale I was expecting…oh well…Tsudryt ran off for help…

Chapter 9: A Weapon of the Elder Days

Aha…go to pick up weapon and some parts…just outside gate to the wall to Moria

Chapter 10: Forgotten Lineage

Tsudryt as feared was not offered a doubled handed sword so he chose the Halberd, took it to elves in Rivendell…then forgemaster…equiped…slotted a relic….

Chapter 11: Worth Beyond Measure

ONGOING…lv 8 from warg and wolf hunting in Eregion…maybe Skirmish would be a good idea?

So almost there…just a few more bricks for the wall and I am waving around a legendary weapon already (not a huge difference noted so far…)

‘All in all it’s just another brick in the wall.

All in all you’re just another brick in the wall.

“Wrong, Do it again!”

“If you don’t eat yer meat, you can’t have any pudding. How can you

have any pudding if you don’t eat yer meat?”‘

Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall pt.3

LOTRO: Battle of the Tsu’s

9 Sep

‘And I looked at him and my blood ran cold

And I said: “My name is ‘Sue!’ How do you do!

Now your gonna die!!”‘

A Boy Named Sue – Johnny Cash

Tsuhelm Winfola lv43 Hunter Woodsman

Tsudryt Landroval lv43 Captain Weaponsmith Kin: The Council of the Secret Fire

Tsudryt  pulled level with Tsuhelm and it looks like will soon pass him…and as Tsudryt is connected and on a busy server it looks like he will quickly pull away from Tsuhelm…

So what?

Well my blog is called Tsuhelm and Tsuhelm is for me still my ‘main’…

What to do?

Get over it…Tsuhelm will have his day (sooner rather than later…)…he has fully explored every region of LOTRO as he has levelled whereas Tsudryt has hopped over many aspects of the story…

At the moment I do not want to take Tsuhelm out to play, he has just maxed out woodworking guild but is a long long way from wrapping up all crafting levels…indeed he is stuck at the moment as cannot complete master level due to missing black ash wood! Can go and collect but I am having more fun with Captain Tsudryt on Landroval…

And what am I doing with Tsudryt?

This weekend he went to the North Downs to complete Race Deeds, and while at it quests in and around Esteldin which also help with slayer deeds…

Enmity of the Hillmen

1 & 2

Balance of Man and Strength of Morale

Enmity of the Wargs

2 & 3

Return to Bree and Duty Bound

plan to wrap up here and move North into Angmar…(Evendim not finished but going to wrap up with kin…hopefully soon!)

‘Well, he must o’ thought that is quite a joke

And it got a lot of laughs from a’ lots of folk,

It seems I had to fight my whole life through.

Some gal would giggle and I’d get red

And some guy’d laugh and I’d bust his head,

I tell ya, life ain’t easy for a boy named “Sue.”‘

Fredem back on the road of loneliness

28 Aug

Fredem didn’t have a chance to wrap up everything as planned this weekend – it started well[3hr session early Saturday morning], I completed the lv30 Champion quest, really easy, and finished off all those creepy walking trees in the Old Forest. I then started with the lv30 F2P[?] bonus missions which shipped Fredem back and forth around areas not yet opened up. Trollshaws/North Downs/Evendim/Northdowns[missed]/Evendim[again…]. Fredem un-wrapped his horse whistle and enjoyed horsing around…Then wife, kids and accompanying tiredness intervened and that was that until late Sunday! Whistle gone!

Well on foot, Fredem collected Nog legs and wight knuckle bones and valuables and continued culling birdies, orcies and wargies as he encountered them. Squashed a few spidies too. Finished off the birdy quest [Crebain Slayer- Advanced] and about half way on the rest.

All task drops that Fredem has leveled past are being shipped to Dyort [accidentally even those that were about to be given in…OOPS!] Dyort is in position, in Bree and, infront of Second Watcher Heathstraw ready to turn in Tasks. His reputation is slowly increasing, boosted by any rep items Tsuhelm finds. Tsuhelm is in position in the AH, very slow… when his bows and champion horns sell he pops into barrow lands for ash wood, med hides from barghests and if not too busy [and it is mostly at the moment, too busy!] kills some more spiders…over halfway to 300 now!

Also sold lots of hides that Fredem collected 1.1GP per 100 [get same price for the leather so quicker that way!] Did forget to take out some hunter armour he bought in the AH due to lack of storage space. It was a painful learning experience. New bag is needed… more TP expense.

I have already squeezed the 100TP out of Fredem that I had planned and now I think there maybe another 100 to go.

“Thank-you Fredem.”…”Now hurry up and bugger off old man!”
