LOTRO: My little war pony disappoints, leads to skirmish frenzy and WIPEOUT!

Rohan adventures continue, but did find out that Riders of Rohan is quite unlike Wipeout!

To start with Tsukuld wrapped up the Wold:

I can see where the Big Battle idea came from….

Checking out Watch Towers…Oh look the enemy…Are you just going to ignore him?

Tsukuld finally got his warhorse in Harwick and after wrapping the training/introduction instance decided that I would rather do some skirms to get missing RK lv75 class gear…

That is not a great start at all..

WHY?

Controls are clunky as hell, I suppose if the sensation of trying to control a powerful warhorse was imbued that would be OK but it does not. In fact it induces no sense at all other than irritation.

I simply have no motivation to want to learn a whole new ‘driving’ game, which doesn’t exactly handle that smoothly.

And maybe the control would be forgivable if while riding the warhorse my RK was filled with awesome and insane powers, but the meagre rewards for my RK are 2 offensive skills and a raft of healing skills where the combat mechanic of charge at target and fire off skills, slow, turnaround and repeat… maybe it gets better but this introduction does not inspire at all… in fact it actually put me right off!

And I was excited…

Now I wonder if they could do a wipeout/lotro mounted combat fusion… the only driving game I have ever shone at!

So off to pick up RK lv75 gear from Dunland… skirmishing I went…

The Icy Cravasse was on sale and Supergirl of Lorien fast skirmish guide states that 15 meds per run were dropped and it being fast I chose to buy it only to find out that only 5 meds per run are rewarded… still I enjoyed the runs and was finding no real difficulty in completing on level.

Did a couple of Tucky runs and Strikes against Dannenglore just to break up the monotony 🙂

Was happy to finally take down Seregruin…ON LEVEL… I think my game play has slightly improved, I am now using my morale bubbles at better times, and using my skills ROTS with a little more thought!

Ruingalad still needs to be taken down…but simply did not encounter…

And in my last run before work this morning got hammered by a Morreveil: Rimdeloth…? I have taken her down before quite easily…

500+k morale!!!!

Today I got a super boosted version to take on…500k morale! WTF! I had already done 2 encounters so was surprised she was hanging around…!

LOTRO: Dr.Quinn trained in Mirkwood!

This Monday Tsukuld leveled another LI handbag to 60, so deconstructed it for a 500k+ XP rune returned enough to max out my 2^nd age 65 handbag…

So it it was time to get that rune satchel, obsidian second age sorted…which meant deconstructing the 3rd age ’53’ I was still using…

First…no room in my bags, so empty and ship craft stuff to alts…vault and shared storage both full (shared needs expanding again!) so used post! Then back to vault for relic removal scroll and last empowerment scrolls (3 left to 65) and then to skirmish camp for another empowerment scroll.

While doing this I found a nice LOTRO site for LI stuff specifically for RKs: Supergirl of Lorien…

I also found while in the skirmish camp that I have been massively neglecting my skirmish soldier’s training:

I again followed Supergirl’s advice, this time on Herbalist training, and herbalist, had a peek at Pineleaf’s herbalist guide too 🙂

Dr.Quinn my Herbalist went from rank 11 in 2 skills to rank 24/25 in 4 skills and training, I also upped my own skirmish skills.

That could explain why some skirms were killing me: rank 11 is equivalent of lv51 whereas rank 25 is equivalent of a much more respectable lv69!

I also read supergirl’s guide to skirmishes ranked by marks/min: great stuff and has inspired me to yet again get back into my skirmishes, I want to do them all, in there entirety!

So what to do next…wrap up Scuttledells!

Sealing the Barrows: 4 barrows to shut the stone door upon…I was half hoping we could explore inside…

Black Venom II: Delúris Giant Spider to kill inside the Spider infested cave,,,’silken strands quest’ for xp rune also done again while doing this…oh so delirious!

Strike Against Dannenglor skirmish quickly but still 2 encounters missing, Flaming Bard mentions one of them in a comment: Ruingalad (a FIREBALL…tough and fire resistant!) and Seregruin, ancient ghost warrior…handed me my arse on a plate last time I got him but that was with my untrained herbalist…Dr.Quinn is so much more Dr.Quinn now!

Today back to Thangúlhad

I was freaked to find so many quests were repeatable…

Attack from below was…so did it again…and failed..what! Again:…failed again…really! WHAT? Third time, found to be easy! Weird!

Picked up and completed: Badges of Dishonour while underground! and An ally in Need from a lost elf…

Kill 2 wargs and jobs done…easy! while I was doing Scouting in Force and An Eye on the Enemy again…both basic scouting quests.

I also took Sign of the Malledhrim and failed it… after successfully defending the flag Tsukuld walked outside encampment… too soon!

Symbols of Conquest..ongoing, those banners to be burned all over the place…

With my new improved landscape herbalist Dr.Quinn I am going to try and solo the evil Troll Threesome…soon!
